New Direction for New Canadians
DIVERSE city community resources society is a registered non-profit agency offering a wide range of services and programs to the immigrant and refugee communities of Surrey, Delta, White Rock and Langley. DIVERSE city community resources society is accredited by the `Council on Accreditation’ (COA) and its services are delivered through five main departments, namely:
Immigration and Citizenship Law
Providing a full range of services in the area of immigration and citizenship law, including applications for temporary and permanent residence in Canada.
Accommodation, Orientation and Counselling
The Immigrant Services Society of British Columbia (ISS) is a not-for-profit charitable organization that provides settlement, community, English-language, training and employment services to immigrants, refugees and students in Canada.
Settlement & Integration Program

The Immigration Program (formerly Settlement and Integration) provides immigrants to Canada with initial services such as information, orientation and referral to mainstream agencies, adaptation and host mentoring programs, and language training.  
Immigration Services helps newcomers to become independent and contributing members of the community by providing skills to participate in the community and knowledge of opportunities that promote civic participation, while promoting cross cultural understanding.

We began as a federated fundraiser - today United Way of the Lower Mainland plays a leadership role in bringing together resources to care for the social service needs of the community. We support the delivery of more than 400 programs and services that help people find their way."
Our Mission

At VAST, the primary focus is on meeting the stated needs of the people who walk through our door. The range of services offered is guided by what people let us know they want and need. Services can range from assistance in finding a place to live, to a cup of coffee and a safe place to rest, to the free services of a trained psychologist.
"Services include a toll-free, province-wide telephone service called VictimLINK. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, is accessible by TTY (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf) and provides interpretation services for all the major languages spoken in British Columbia. VictimLINK operators provide information and referral services to all victims of crime and immediate crisis support to victims of family and sexual violence. VictimLINK 1-800-563-0808"
