Private Withdrawal Management Services (Detox)

Crossroads offers 15 medically supported withdrawal management beds.  Clients are seen by a physician on a daily basis. Medical protocols and standing orders are provided to clients requiring medications to manage withdrawal symptoms.  Typically a client will spend between 5 and 10 days in detox depending on which substance they are withdrawing from. Crossroads is happy to cooperate and accept referrals from other treatment centres and health care professionals.

More Comfortable & Quicker

Rapid Opiate Detoxification under Anaesthesia (RODA)

RODA is a means of withdrawing from opiates, like methadone, heroin, opium and prescription pain killers. It is usually more comfortable, and quicker than other withdrawal methods. The procedure lasts about eight hours.

A Part of the journey

RODA, although relatively quick and convenient, it should be understood that it is one important part of a comprehensive addiction treatment program and not viewed as a means of treating the underlying addiction itself.

Those seeking access to Rapid Opiate Detoxification under Anaesthesia must be actively engaged in a program of recovery prior to the procedure itself.  With this we can also help.

A Three-Part Procedure

The RODA procedure involves pre-procedure assessment, the procedure itself, and monitored aftercare.  The RODA procedure at Western Canada Detox Centre is provided in an out-of-hospital anesthetic suite that has been inspected and accredited by the College of Physician and Surgeons of British Columbia. The procedure lasts about eight hours.

Getting Started

Prior to Rapid Opiate Detoxification under Anaesthesia (RODA) you will see one of the clinic physicians with training and expertise in addiction medicine. He/she will conduct an in-depth assessment to determine if, indeed, you are a candidate for Rapid Opiate Detoxification under Anaesthesia. The assessment will typically consist of an interview, laboratory investigations, and a physical examination. This will take place over several office visits and must be seen as a consultation regarding addiction medicine care, not just as an inevitable step towards Rapid Opiate Detoxification under Anaesthesia.

We have recently opened at a new location and are pleased to be able to offer RODA in affiliation with Valley Surgery Centre.

Location: Surrey, BC
