INSITE
“Tired of waiting for someone else to change? Change starts with you.”
Many people struggling with family issues related to addiction experience a sense of emptiness and loss. Dysfunctional coping strategies are often adopted to keep the addiction a secret, to deny the behaviour exists or to make excuses for it.
Recognizing the importance of treating substance abuse as a family disease, EDGEWOOD urges family members to undertake their own path of recovery through INSITE.
INSITE is a personal growth program that challenges each participant to work openly and honestly toward a deeper understanding of him or herself.
INSITE is an intensive six-day therapeutic workshop that offers the opportunity to explore a full range of topics including:
• Co-dependency
• Boundary setting
• Relationships
• Emotional development
• Intimacy
• Spirituality
• Addictions
• Self-care
Who can participate in INSITE?
• Adults 19 years of age or older
• Anyone affected by someone with an addiction
• Those wishing to learn more about addictions
• Persons wanting to resolve co-dependency issues
• Anyone who wants to learn more about themselves

Family Education
The Family Education Program is offered to all friends and family members of our residential patients at no additional cost. Family members will come to understand the nature of addictions and the recovery process. EDGEWOOD strongly encourages all patients’ family members and friends to attend as it is important that the entire family has the support of the staff during this time.
In addition, members of the community, as well as professionals, who are interested in learning more about addiction or who wish to learn more about EDGEWOOD, are also welcome to attend.
Youth Bounce Back Program
- Specifically designed to help children ages 7-12!!
EDGEWOOD’s Bounce Back program provides a fun environment where children who are living with addiction in the family can explore and express their feelings freely. Through games, role-play, videos, art projects, songs and group discussions, children develop a sense of belonging, feel less isolated and learn to understand their experience and where to turn for help.
Edgewood offers ongoing 3 day, 6 session therapeutic programs starting July 16-18 & August 20-22, 2010 - continuing on a regular basis to fill each demand.
