Confidential Assessment – Intake, Planning & Referral

The Individual -– Confidential & Safe

It takes a special courage to make that first call for help and we honour that.  We offer a place and people of trust and safety.  You will always be our first focus as you are the primary reason we are here.

We start with a somewhat intimate time of introduction in order to get to know each other.
Should you wish to continue we then arrange a one-on-meeting in order to fully assess your needs and a healthy course of action.  This could mean custom outpatient treatment, professional counselling & coaching as well as the right private residential treatment for you.  We also can assist with supportive recovery housing and eventually a custom aftercare or post treatment plan.

The Family – Prepare & Protect

You care deeply and have done all you know to help your loved one with less than satisfactory results.  Chances are you are at the stage where the addict’s actions and your efforts to help are affecting the entire family as well as others.  The virus of addiction is on the move and your efforts bear little or no fruit.

Prepare: to develop and become a most valuable part of your own new (Family) recovery team.  With the help of your new Addictions Coach/Counselor you and your family can learn the real truth of addictions and how you should first treat yourself, others in the family and ultimately the addict themselves.

Protect: Understanding how it works, and protected by your new tools including new and loving boundaries, you and your family can address the addict in a loving way.  Now able to demonstrate with action, your new program of “how it works” in unity, including displaying healthy boundaries & new unified roles you not only protect each family member from further damage while living your lives as they should be you example family unity and love to the ultimate benefit of the addict.

At EDGEWOOD, our basic philosophy is to do what is best for the individual struggling with an addiction disorder. This means we don't always refer clients to our Nanaimo facility. We can help individuals to find a treatment facility that best suits their particular needs. Together We Can Residential Treatment - Men Only
