Action is a no-kill, humane animal rescue sanctuary, dedicated and committed to the needs of homeless, abandoned, neglected, sick and injured animals and to educating people to be responsible pet owners.
Open only if you really love animals!
AAS is an all-volunteer registered charitable organization dedicated to the rescue, fostering, and rehabilitation of animals that official agencies will not help. We advocate for getting laws passed to stop animal cruelty, and exposing the reason why there is so little help for suffering animals in B.C. from these official agencies.

How to apply for a Guide Dog

Application for training may be made directly to British Columbia Guide Dog Services. All applicants should contact Bill Thornton CEO at (604) 940-4504. The minimum age for applying for a Guide Dog is 14 years.
All interviews are conducted in the applicant's home and are carried out by a qualified Guide Dog Instructor. The applicant's spouse and family members are welcome to attend the interview; this is often very helpful, as the arrival of a dog in the family affects not only the new Guide Dog User, but all members of the family.

The organization's mission is to prevent animal abuse and promote animal welfare. The BC SPCA was created under the auspices of the provincial Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and is the only animal welfare organization in BC which has the authority to enforce laws relating to animal cruelty and to prepare cases for Crown Counsel for the prosecution of individuals who inflict suffering on animals.
The BCWF is a province-wide voluntary conservation organization of hunters, anglers and recreational shooters, representing all British Columbians whose aims are to protect, enhance and promote the wise use of the environment for the benefit of present and future generations.

The Burns Bog Conservation Society is a registered charity founded in 1988. We began as a small group of dedicated people determined to "conserve and preserve Burns Bog for all life in perpetuity." We conduct tours through the bog, present to local classrooms, set up displays at community events, publish educational material, and hold special events such as international Bog Day, a community celebration.

Founded by Vancouver Registered Animal Health Technologist Donna Lasser in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, CAAT sent 82 Veterinarians and Technologists to Louisiana in September and October, 2005. While in Louisiana, CAAT members aided in the rescue, medical and husbandry needs of thousands of animals displaced by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Now, CAAT is developing its volunteer base and the organizational infrastructure necessary to be able to respond rapidly to future catastrophic disasters and other worthy relief and humane education projects around the world

A non-profit society which promotes urban agriculture and environmental conservation in Vancouver, British Columbia. Urban agriculture concerns itself with all manner of subjects from rooftop gardens, to composting toilets, to air pollution and community development.

Gibsons Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is a non-profit, registered society, that admits into care wild birds and small mammals which are in distress. Each year we receive hundreds of calls on behalf of injured and orphaned wildlife. We provide for the animal's every need including feeding, watering, daily cleaning and medicating (if necessary).

PMES volunteers operate a salmon and trout hatchery, a water quality lab and public awareness/ community outreach programs, using salmon and trout life-cycle ecology as an instructional vehicle. The hatchery, newly created off-channel fish habitat, lab, 'polish' marsh (duck pond) and outdoor classrooms are located at the mouth of the Noons Creek watershed in Port Moody, British Columbia.
