Richmond Addiction Services is seeking 2 temporary full time (1 FTE) Youth Outreach Counsellor to provide counseling services to youth and families seeking assistance in dealing with their substance use/misuse. 1 temporary one year position covering a maternity leave, starting in March 2009. 1 temporary position for a period of 3 months, covering a paternity leave and starting immediately.
Responsibilities:
Provides assessment, treatment planning and implementation, case consultation, counselling, case management, referral and aftercare services for clients of the program. The position is also responsible for facilitating psycho-education programming. The primary focus of the Youth Counsellor’s work time will be devoted to counseling with some time given to prevention/outreach activities and initiatives when and where appropriate.
Qualifications:
MA/MSW with a minimum 2 years experience in addictions counseling. Direct program delivery experience in addictions with a demonstrated working knowledge of community based programs and related provincial and community support systems is preferred. This is a Paramedical position Grid Level 11 with a salary range of $29.39 - $36.66 per hr.
